The Department of Art & Media Technology works across Contemporary Art, Curatorial Practices, Game Art, Creative Technology & Computing, Global Media, and Arts & Cultural Management. The relationships between these areas of practice and research are important. The department supports a politically alert and contextually astute, interdisciplinary research environment, in which practice-based, scholarly, and editorial processes are at play.
The Department of Fashion & Textiles is the school’s largest department, offering design, leadership & strategy, and marketing education, at undergraduate, taught-postgraduate, and doctoral levels. The department supports one of the largest international student communities in Europe studying fashion leadership, management, and strategy programmes, whilst sustaining a long-held reputation for the nurturing of high-level design practice and craft-based skills. The department supports a diverse and inclusive research environment, with notable strengths in fashion & textiles and cultural history, critical luxury studies, sustainability, and e-textiles and materials innovation.
