Knowledge Exchange Lead (Engineering)

Do you want to play an instrumental part in the success of the University of Sheffield as a leading University for Knowledge Exchange (KE), Innovation and Impact? And do you have the skills required to grow the impact, partnerships and reputation of a research intensive University?

We are looking to appoint a Knowledge Exchange Lead within our exciting new Partnerships & KE Service, with a specific remit to support the Faculty of Engineering (one of the biggest providers of engineering research and education in the UK) and interdisciplinary research.

Using your networks and expanding them through regular sector engagement, you will represent and promote the University’s research, capabilities and expertise in order to catalyse ambitious new partnerships and support KE activity with industry, government and other priority partners.

This exciting and strategic role will not only provide you with the opportunity to lead and deliver significant change and also provide you with the chance to work across the whole University, lead relationships with high profile companies and manage multi-million-pound bids and strategic partnerships.

The University is committed to growing the Partnerships & KE Service which exists to facilitate academically-led partnerships, innovation and knowledge exchange activity to support the delivery of the University’s 5-Year Vision. We are looking for candidates with proven experience of leading diverse teams and working in collaboration across multiple partners, with the skills to build trusted and productive alliances with a range of parties.

We believe in the power of diversity to help us address big global challenges and aim to actively build diverse teams. We know that when people come together with different views, approaches, and insights it leads to richer, more creative, and innovative teaching and research, better understanding of student needs and aspirations and the highest level of student experience.

We are committed to enabling our employees to work in a hybrid model with flexibility over when, where and how to achieve the required outputs, in discussion with your manager. We are also committed to exploring flexible working opportunities which benefit the individual and University.

We’re one of the best not-for-profit organisations to work for in the UK. The University’s Total Reward Package includes a competitive salary, a generous Pension Scheme and annual leave entitlement, as well as access to a range of learning and development courses to support your personal and professional development.
