Pro Vice-Chancellor (Education and Experience)
At Leeds Trinity University, we aspire to make a difference to the people, the professions and the places that we serve. We are looking for talented and enthusiastic people to join our University community.
We are ranked top in Yorkshire for learning community and pride ourselves on being the University where our students are a name, not just a number. The University has a distinctive, employability-focused educational offer; working closely with employers to provide professional placement opportunities to prepare our learners for the world of work or further study and deliver excellent student outcomes.
Our ambition is to have wider impact with our applied research and knowledge exchange engagement, with staff contributing to the University’s growth of quality provision in undergraduate, postgraduate, foundation and degree apprenticeship programmes as we work to become known as a centre for research excellence.
We are seeking to appoint an exceptional academic leader as Pro Vice-Chancellor (Education and Experience).
The PVC will lead the University’s strategy to deliver an outstanding educational experience for every student in our community. Reporting directly to the Vice-Chancellor and working across the University’s Executive team, the PVC will be responsible for strategic leadership and oversight for policies and activities to enhance education and experience, teaching, curriculum and the broader student experience.
The institution has an ambition to be a career-led university, producing well-rounded learners and graduates sought by employers and society in a rapidly changing world. A key element of this ambition is to become a leading higher education digital provider and the PVC will be instrumental in delivering on this ambition.
The PVC will provide proactive leadership and direction, taking accountability for the development and delivery of teaching and learning across the University. The post holder will work closely with the DVC to transform and support the working practices of colleagues to introduce a culture focused upon excellence in curriculum design, as well as teaching and assessment.
The postholder will lead the development of a newly formed Centre for Excellence in Learning and Teaching which will drive an improvement in performance to positively impact on the institution’s KPIs. They will also lead on the development of our existing centre for partnerships, placements and careers. We are in the process of appointing a new Director of the Centre for Excellence in Learning and Teaching and a Director of Graduate Outcomes and Enterprise to lead these centres.
Interviews for this post are expected to take place on Thursday 2nd September 2021
Shortlisted candidates will be offered the opportunity to visit the campus for an accompanied tour.
