Careers Consultant (Researchers)

Careers, Employability and Student Enterprise is an essential part of the University, responsible for supporting our students and graduates to plan their future career paths and develop essential enterprising skills. It’s an exciting time to join the team as we are expanding from 35 to approximately 55 staff members over the next few months.
As a Careers Consultant for researchers, you will be provide a vital service in identifying and supporting the additional careers and employability needs of PhD students and early career researchers, to prepare for a career both in or outside of academia. You will create and deliver a comprehensive programme of careers, employability and employment support to both postgraduate researchers (PGR) and early career researchers (ECR). Working closely with the Doctoral College and the Centre for Higher Education Practice (CHEP) and in line with the institution’s strategic priorities, you will support the implementation of the Concordat to integrate the Researcher Development Action Plan.
You will possess a recognised professional qualification in careers guidance along with in depth knowledge of careers and employability and with the current challenges facing researchers in HE and developments within the graduate labour market.
