Assistant Professor in Finance (Online Course Development)

Edinburgh Business School, part of School of Social Sciences, one of five academic schools at Heriot-Watt University, has a strong presence in the University’s international campuses in Edinburgh, Dubai and Malaysia. 

The Edinburgh Business School comprises seven academic disciplines: Accounting, Economics, Finance, Marketing, Human Resource Management and Law, Operations Management and Logistics, and Strategy and Enterprises. The wider School of Social Sciences is also the home for departments of Psychology as well as Languages and Intercultural Studies. 

Our research in business and management benefits from interdisciplinary collaboration both within the School and across other key areas of expertise in the University and beyond, including industry and commerce. 

We are seeking to appoint an Assistant Professor in Finance for a 12-month fixed-term period. The successful candidate will join our online development activities at the university to develop learning materials for a number of new online Finance courses in the areas of Mergers and Acquisition, Derivatives, Financial Risk Management and Credit Risk Management. The post will be full-time, reporting to the Global MBA Director and will run for a fixed term of twelve months. The post will be based at our Edinburgh Campus, and there is a possibility for the post to be based at our Dubai Campus. 

The main requirements of the posts will be to produce high-quality, innovative online learning materials appropriate to a global audience. Due to the unique nature of the post, previous experience of teaching coupled with online and course development experience is essential. This post will be appointed at grade 7 or 8.
