I am a Senior Enterprise Fellow within the Web and Internet Science group with a background in Computer Science and digital education. I work as part of a long-established team of Software Engineers working directly with over 70 institutions and organisations world-wide who are utilising the open source software EPrints. The University of Southampton is recognised as being a leader in this space and the EPrints software, created by ECS over 20 years ago, is used across the world with over 500 known open digital content repositories supporting access to research and education.

As well as overseeing the management of our consultancy projects, I specialise in our educational platform known as EdShare and work closely with multiple high profile UK institutions providing them with expert advice and support. Within the University, I sit on the digital education working group and am also a Co-Chair on the Association for Learning Technology Open Education Special Interest Group, promoting open education best practice and influencing policy.

As a digital education professional, ECS is a great place to be to make connections between research, innovation and enterprise for long term impact. With the ever-increasing focus on digital in our lives, I am excited to also now be involved in research activity in ECS. This has started with a project to help education professionals develop their digital education competencies following the emergency transition to online learning as a result of the pandemic.
